Privacy Policy
Effective 29 July 2026
What we handle
You may enter a child nickname, date of birth, city and optional care context so the app can calculate age and show relevant seasonal guidance. You may also record development observations, foods, reactions, activities, sleep sessions, vaccine-card checks, clinician-guided food avoidances and optional notes. The app keeps this information locally so its core guide works offline.
When backend backup is configured, Little Ways creates an anonymous account identifier and syncs these records to our isolated Supabase service. Row-level access rules restrict records to that account. The identifier supports backup, deletion and future account linking; it is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. Please do not email medical records or identifiable child photos.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase/entitlement events so Little Ways can unlock and restore Little Ways Plus. We do not send RevenueCat a child name, birth date, city, health question, photo or guide history.
Voice and AI
If you use voice input, speech recognition may be processed by Apple according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Little Ways does not retain raw audio after transcription.
The current distributed build does not send child profile data or parenting questions to OpenAI. Questions are routed against the reviewed on-device catalog. If a future optional AI router is enabled, this policy and the in-app notice will be updated before activation; child names, dates, city, records and media will remain excluded from provider prompts.
Analytics, advertising and photos
Little Ways measures the ads it runs, and nothing else. The iOS app includes TikTok’s Business SDK so TikTok can tell which of its ads produced an install. It reports that the app was installed, that it was opened, and — if you subscribe — that a subscription was bought, alongside device, app-version and coarse locale attributes. It is never given a child nickname, birth date, city, record, note, question or photo. Little Ways does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) stays unavailable and attribution runs through Apple’s SKAdNetwork instead. The Android app contains no advertising SDK.
Crash reporting uses Sentry and carries code-level diagnostics only: exception types, stack traces and release metadata, with no screenshots, no view hierarchy, no breadcrumb trail and no session tracking. We do not build marketing profiles from child data. We do not analyse baby photos for diagnosis, development, ranking or comparison. Sensitive child and family content must not enter third-party analytics or logs.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you use the in-app deletion control or remove the app. Synced Little Ways records remain until you use the in-app “Delete everything” control, which requests server deletion and clears the local database. Support correspondence remains only as long as needed to answer and meet operational or legal obligations. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records under their own policies; deleting Little Ways data cannot erase Apple’s transaction history.
Sharing and international processing
Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate a feature: Supabase for account and encrypted-transport backup, Apple for platform services and payments, RevenueCat for purchase entitlement, TikTok for the ad measurement described above, Sentry for crash diagnostics, and our email provider when you contact support. These providers may process data in other countries under their contractual and legal safeguards. We do not sell personal information, and the only advertising-related data we share is the install and subscription measurement described under “Analytics, advertising and photos”.
Your choices and rights
You can use the core guide without providing an email address, edit the child profile, export your Little Ways data, delete local and synced Little Ways records, decline microphone access, and manage subscriptions through Apple. Depending on where you live, KVKK, UK GDPR, EU GDPR or similar laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing. Contact us to exercise a right.
Children and safety
The service is for parents and other adult caregivers, not for children to use directly. Little Ways provides general educational suggestions and is not a medical service, diagnosis or emergency channel.
